This bit limits the amount of swing the bit has in the horse's mouth, sort of like a full cheek does when the bit keepers are in place. Won't pinch lips. A ring bit is generally associated with a snaffle bit. The bit ring is attached to the mouth piece. It has an effect on the action of the bit so should be considered when choosing a bit even though the mouth piece has a greater effect than the ring itself.
